What it is
An LED message sign is a panel of small lights (LEDs) arranged in a grid. Any letter, number or shape is drawn by switching some of those lights on, which is why the same sign can show a different message tomorrow.
Shops use them because they are seen. A lit message moves the eye in a way a painted board doesn't, especially in the evening when the street goes dark and a shop either disappears or doesn't. With a message sign, you're not stuck with the words you chose on day one: you can keep the sign working for whatever the business needs this week.

Where it goes
A board that hangs inside your shop window, facing the street. It's the simplest way to put a moving, changeable message in front of people walking past, and because it sits behind the glass it is protected from the weather. One of our own jobs is a pair of window boards running a burger offer for a takeaway.
A message sign built into or across the fascia above your shop, readable from further down the street. These are built for outdoor use and sized to your frontage. A sign that scrolls or flashes on the outside of a building will usually need advertisement consent from the council; we explain that on the How it works page.

Yes. Our programmable LED message signs are made so you can change what they say whenever you like: today's offer, opening hours, a new price. We go through how to change it with you when the sign is handed over.
No. Once the sign is paid for and installed, it is yours to keep. We don't rent signs out and we don't charge a subscription to use them. Like any electrical sign, it uses electricity, which you pay through your normal bill.

Sometimes. In England, many illuminated shop signs are allowed without applying, but that allowance does not cover signs with an intermittent light source, moving feature or animation, and it does not apply in conservation areas. A scrolling or flashing sign on the outside of a building will therefore usually need advertisement consent from the local council. We'll talk it through with you before anything is made; the decision itself rests with the council.
It depends on the size, the type of sign, how it is fixed, access to the wall and the electrics. The quickest way to an honest figure is to send us a photo of your shopfront on WhatsApp with a rough idea of what you want.
